Yoga 1: Fridays: 8:30 – 9:30am

Yoga 1 is suitable for most students, whether new to the exploration of yoga, would like to return to the fundamentals of yoga or recognize the benefits of a moderately paced experience. Class includes basic pose alignment, and a variety of breathing, relaxation and meditation practices. An appreciation for the holistic science of Yoga, and how to incorporate it into our daily lives and everyday actions, is a component of every class.

Sue Bielski
Sue came to yoga in her late 30s seeking low-impact physical exercise, but she soon found herself drawn to exploring the deeper aspects of the practice. She began teaching regularly shortly before completing her 200-hour yoga teacher certification (at YogaLife Institute of NH) in 2015. She regularly teaches 4 – 6 classes a week in various Seacoast venues. The experience of yoga, as Sue imagines it, includes developing new perspectives, experimenting with the unfamiliar, opening up beneficial paths of communication, and cultivating light-heartedness as one moves through life. Sue has taught yoga at all levels to students ranging in age from adolescents to nonagenarians.

Marsha Carr: Tai Chi Yang 24 Short Form & Tai Chi for Health & Balance

Tai Chi Yang 24 Short Form: A series of 5 Classes starts Tuesday evenings starting November 7th 6:30pm – 7:30pm

Tai Chi Yang 24 Short Form: traditional beginning form for first time students that improves balance, coordination, mindfulness and breath work. The form was the result of an effort by the Chinese Sports Committee, which, in 1956, brought together four Tai Chi teachers to create a simplified form of Tai Chi as exercise for the masses.

Caveat: This is a progressive movement class, a new movement will be taught in most classes. Students are encouraged not to miss class due to the number of steps to learn the form. The whole form cannot be learned in 6 weeks, therefore subsequent class offerings may be provided.

Tai Chi for Health & Balance: A series of 5 Classes starts Friday mornings starting November 10th 10:00am – 11:00 am

Tai Chi for Health & Balance: Tai Chi for improving movement for those with arthritis and associated disease. Simple 12 movement form with gentle movements based on the Sun Style of Tai Chi. Very simple and easy to learn. Excellent for those who need something to gently ease into exercise from rehab or sedentary lifestyles. This is an excellent class for Seniors as the stepping is easy and balanced.

Tai Chi  Qigong is a holistic system of coordinated body posture and movement, breathing and meditation beneficial for improved health and martial arts training.
This graceful form of exercise, referred to as meditation in motion, focuses on body awareness, balance and deep breathing. It is well known to improve balance and coordination as it is appropriate for all ages and abilities!

Time: 9:30am - 10:30am
Cost: $45.00 Total for the five classes

Yin yoga is a practice that allows us to slow down and find release within deeper stretches. This style of yoga requires the muscles to relax in order for the connective tissue-- ligaments, bones and the fascial network in our body to be deeply stretched. This yoga complements activities like running, hiking, and other forms of exercise so that you can maintain good health and mobility in the joints. Postures are held for longer periods of time (2-5 minutes) and are done seated or supine using props for support. A short relaxing rest will complete the practice. Join Michelle Couture, ERYT200 for a 5 week series where you will find significant release in the hips, pelvis, inner thighs and spine.

It is practiced worldwide and used in many wellness settings as well as in private practice.
